Marine Gateway
Deep-water access, existing wharf infrastructure, and Transport Canada international vessel permits position the village as a regenerative marine gateway on the Inside Passage.
Renewable Energy Hub
Licensed 1 MW hydroelectric capacity from the 1,600-acre Butedale Lake reservoir provides clean baseload power — enabling year-round habitation without fossil fuel dependency.
Ecological Research Station
A base for long-term ecological monitoring: Spirit Bear population tracking, salmon stream restoration, and collaborative research with university partners and First Nations Guardian Watchmen.
Cultural Immersion
In partnership with Haisla Nation and Kitasoo/Xai'xais communities: traditional ecological knowledge, Indigenous art, Great Bear Rainforest natural history, and cannery heritage storytelling.
